INTERPERSONAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) is a time-limited, dynamically informed psychotherapy which aims to alleviate patient’s suffering and improve their interpersonal functioning. IPT focuses specifically on interpersonal relationships as a means of bringing about change, with the goal of helping clients to either improve their interpersonal relationships or change their expectations of them. The style of therapy aims to assist clients to improve their social support networks so that they can better manage their current interpersonal distress.

STRESS MANAGEMENT/COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES AND INTERVENTIONS

Stress management encompasses techniques to equip a person with effective coping mechanisms for dealing with psychological stress. Stress management is effective when a person utilizes strategies to cope with or alter stressful situations. Time management and communication strategies can be implemented to further reduce stress and improve confidence in your ability to do so.
